More music:
Before I was sick, I had started to do a lot of singer songwriting, various types of grunge, noise pop, and rock. And I had been studying experimental music and improvisation. But before that, I had went to high school at Idyllwild Arts Academy to study jazz guitar, under the tutelage of the great Marshall Hawkins. I gigged some around Vermont while in high school and college, at small venues. In this case, playing jazz standards and originals with my friend Ryan Clancy on saxophone, and my father on rhythm guitar. When I became sick, I lost all of this. To some extent I have to live in the past and remind myself of the music and art I made because it’s too painful to contemplate never getting to do it again.
(This speaks for itself, original composition that I think is very elven, in odd meter)

Bread and Puppet is one of the oldest, nonprofit, political theatre companies in the country. They are located in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, close to Walker’s childhood home. This show was performed on the eve of Walker’s first surgery; both to raise awareness about his illness, and as a healing ritual.
Before this illness, Walker was an active member of Bread and Puppet, he has spent countless summers at the farm helping with productions and playing with the band. We are eternally grateful for the support of this amazing community and hope that one day soon Walker will be healed and back at Bread and Puppet.
